Fishing Reports
2/27/09 Spring is just around the corner now.Warmer temperatures should begin to increase the water temperatures, which should improve the fishing for a variety of species. There are a few Redfish biting, but the Trout bite remains somewhat slow.Whiting are biting well on the beaches, and the sheepshead are biting good on the nearshore reefs. Capt.Richard Latham
3/7/09 The weather has been fantastic the last few days, with temperatures approaching 80 degrees. The Trout bite is slowly improving. On Friday we were able to catch 13 small fish,on soft plastics. There are a few Redfishing biting as well. The beaches are covered with Whiting right now. This weekend there were over 30 boats on the beach, and the bite was on! Capt.Richard Latham
3/25/09 Wednesday was another beautiful day in the Golden Isles.Morning temperatures were in the 60's and light winds out of the south. We began the day fishing for Redfish around St.Simons Island. We pulled up to the first drop, noticing a lot of birds feeding on baitfish. After setting the anchor we were treated to a show of "tails".The Redfish were working the baitfish as well.We fished for about 30 minutes before the first hookup. The bite continued to improve with the falling tide.We finished the morning with 10 nice Redfish,3 of which were over 27 inches. The other 7 fish were between 16 and 23 inches.
